Our Team
Al-Hayaat School’s leadership team, led by a group of experienced and passionate directors, is devoted to creating an environment that fosters excellence and Islamic values. The directors, each bringing unique skills and a shared vision, ensure that the school upholds its mission of providing high-standard education while nurturing character development, pride in Islamic identity, and a balanced life approach.
Principal
Ms. Alaa Namus is an experienced educator and dedicated leader committed to fostering academic excellence and Islamic values. She holds a Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Currently, she’s pursuing a Certification in School Management and Leadership (CSML).
Her teaching career includes university-level teaching assistance, Conestoga College’s LINC program, and running her own online school for teaching English for Academic Purposes. Through this, she has guided students in their academic and personal growth.
As Principal of Al-Hayaat School, Ms. Alaa Namus is dedicated to creating a faith-centered and engaging learning environment that empowers students to excel academically and spiritually.
President
Dr. Hamid Reza Mohebbi is a Senior Scientist at Quantum Valley Investment in Waterloo. He is passionate about community development and nurturing our future generations based on the strong foundations of the teachings of Quran and Ahlulbayt (as). He has been in academia, both high school and university, from the past 30 years and is among the founding members of multiple Islamic schools in Canada. He is an active educator and researcher in Islamic Studies and has been serving our communities since past many years.
Vice President
Zaman Alkhafagi is an experienced leader in municipal service delivery, currently serving as a Supervisor at the Regional Municipality of Waterloo . He is deeply involved in strategic planning, resident experience, and communications, focusing on optimizing service delivery in the public sector. As Vice President, he is currently leading efforts to redefine the vision and mission of the Municipal Service Delivery Officials (MSDO) organization.
With expertise in operations management, stakeholder engagement, and educational leadership, Zaman is passionate about enhancing community services, driving innovation, and fostering impact learning environments.
